Description
Levada da Referta is a walk in the north of the island, in Porto da Cruz village. During the walk you will find hand-worked farm camps, and you will be able to observe various types of vegetables, potatoes, fruits and people working in the farm fields.
In these agricultural fields everything that people produce is for local consumption, in Porto da Cruz is still one of the places in Madeira where people work in agriculture sometimes as time hobby, it is an ancient culture.
During its route the view is over the village of Porto da Cruz, the sea and with a rock in the background called Penha de A`guia, is one of the very well known points of this village.
Near the end of the walk we see the vineyard plantation and local houses decorated with various kinds of season flowers.
At the end of the walk you have the opportunity to drink typical drink, and typical island food, will be a real contact with the real Madeira.

- Bring for walking comfortable clothing, and comfortable hiking boots or shoes
