This trail has the particularity of connecting two of the highest peaks of the island of Madeira, (Pico Ruivo 1862m) and Pico do Areeiro (1818 m).
Crossing part of the Central Mountain Massif area, offering incredible landscapes in the central massif of the Madeira island. The trail is on stairs built on rocks, with ups and downs in a different setting from the whole island. Along the way we find several species of fauna and outside endemic.
This route is known worldwide because in this section one of the most beautiful races of the Ultra Trail World Tour is the MIUT Madeira Island Ultra Trail.
